Working out the gender

A noun is a word for a thing (e.g. dog, school, pen) and an adjective describes some quality of the noun (e.g. big, exciting, lazy).

In Irish nouns can be masculine or feminine. You can tell that a noun is feminine because it aspirates an adjective that immediately follows it.

In this exercise, all the nouns are feminine. Write out the adjective showing aspiration.

But watch out! One of the adjectives cannot be aspirated. You can figure out why by looking at the combination of letters it begins with.
