Student Essay Competition
In the autumn of 1998, LARA organised an essay-writing competition open to all undergraduate students on language degree courses at higher education institutions in the UK who had successfully completed a period of residence abroad of not less than three months.
Entrants had to tell us, in an essay of between 3,000 and 4,000 words:
First Prize was two one-month Inter-Rail passes for Summer 1999
The LARA Competition was sponsored by Campus Travel, the largest supplier of travel products to students in Great Britain.
